Chef David Daniels Joins Cheever Tavern

David Daniels brings 30 years of culinary experience on both the East and West coast to Cheever Tavern, which he recently joined as Executive Chef, according to Owner Mike Sheehan. Daniels will be responsible for all food preparation, presentation, and menu creation for the restaurant.

Chef Daniels joins from Six / West, Wink & Nod, and Southern Kin where he was Culinary Director for Bespoke Hospitality. He spent four years as Culinary Director with MET Restaurant Group, Saltie Girl and Stephanie’s Restaurant Group. Daniels was Executive Chef at the OAK Bar + Kitchen at the Fairmont Copley Plaza and at Aragosta at the Fairmont Battery Wharf. All are located in Boston.

Daniels also served as Executive Chef at Topper’s on Nantucket, The Federalist at XV Beacon Hotel, Stephanie’s on Newbury Street and Ambrosia on Huntington.

“Dave not only brings high levels of creativity and energy to Cheever Tavern’s kitchen,” Sheehan said, “he wholeheartedly shares my vision for what a contemporary American tavern should offer: familiar fare with a twist of the unexpected in an authentic, friendly neighborhood setting.”

Cheever Tavern is located in Norwell Center, adjacent to the First Parish Norwell Unitarian Church and cemetery, which is the final resting place of many of Norwell’s founding families, including Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Cheever, one of America’s premier chroniclers of the 20th century. Cheever’s family gravesite is a few steps from Cheever Tavern’s front door.

Cheever Tavern is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:30 am 9 pm, Friday through Saturday 11:30 am to 10 pm, and on Sunday for Brunch from 10 am to 2 pm, Dinner from 4 pm to 8 pm. For more information: www.cheevertavern.com.
