BayCoast Bank is delighted to announce Nicole Almeida as Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer (CDO).

In this newly created role, she will be responsible for shaping the company’s internal diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, as well as, building relationships with key leaders, communities and organizations to create awareness and advocacy in a manner that is authentic to BayCoast Bank. The appointment of this role will also accelerate BayCoast’s efforts to embed diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the company, throughout each affiliate, with employee programs, recruitment, training, and social responsibility initiatives.

Prior to assuming the role of Chief Diversity Officer, Almeida held the title of Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, providing marketing leadership and support to BayCoast Bank and its affiliates, championing and managing the BayCoast brand, and aligning marketing strategies and initiatives with the organization’s competitive strategy.

Almeida, who holds a Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation, sits on several financial industry boards, including the ABA Bank Marketing School Board, the ABA Emerging Leaders Council and the Mass Bankers Women in Banking Advisory Board.

She has a comprehensive understanding of the importance inclusion and diversity plays in and outside the workplace and prior to joining BayCoast Bank, was the Director of Resource Development and Retention for SMILES Mentoring, Inc. (SouthCoast Mentoring Initiative for Learning, Education and Service), providing mentors for at risk youth in the Greater New Bedford and Fall River school communities. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for how non-profits seek to improve the quality of our region. She has also held membership in numerous community organizations over the past 20 years, including Board Member and Chair YWCA of Southeastern MA, Global Learning Charter Public School Ambassador, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Meeting Street, Women’s Fund of SEMA, Our Sisters School, Leadership SouthCoast, SouthCoast Serves, Junior Achievement, and United Way.
