CLA, one of the leading professional services firms in the U.S., announced today that Barry Sussman CPA/CFF, ABV, has advanced to the position of principal in the firm. Joseph Kask, CLA’s Managing Principal for New England, said Sussman plays a vital role in the firm’s Litigation and Valuation practice, with more than 30 years of experience assisting companies and attorneys in the dispute resolution process. Sussman works out of CLA’s Boston office.

Kask said Sussman specializes in the analysis of economic damages in commercial and intellectual property litigation, and has significant experience testifying in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts and in front of arbitration panels. He has also led international teams of forensic accountants as they performed financial restatement investigations, conducted business and intellectual property valuations, and performed royalty audits.

“Barry is an invaluable member of our Litigation and Valuation team and provides a high level of value for a number of CLA clients. His extensive forensics experience at the national and international level makes him ideally suited to the role of principal at CLA, and we are pleased to welcome him as the newest member of our leadership team,” Kask said.

Sussman received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lehigh University, and has received the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credentials from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a resident of Boston and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Boston Patent Law Association.
