The Foundation has distributed nearly $118,000 in 2020 to support local food banks, non-profit organizations and other causes across Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island

The blumshapiro Foundation recently distributed nearly $80,000 in grant awards to support non-profit organizations operating across New England, members of the firm’s Planned Giving Committee announced today.

The Foundation’s latest wave of grant funding was spread across 35 individual non-profit organizations dedicated to serving families and children in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Between these grants, recent donations to local food banks, investments in scholarship programs, and other philanthropic initiatives, the Foundation has invested more than $118,000 in the communities blumshapiro serves over the course of 2020.

“At blum, we are committed to being active members of the communities we serve, and we are proud to support the many non-profit organizations who are working every day to make these communities better places to live and work,” said Joseph Kask, Chief Executive Officer, blumshapiro. “On behalf of our firm, I want to thank all of the staff members, volunteers and non-profit leaders for their tireless work to advance their missions and improve our neighbors’ lives. Happy holidays.”

“Especially in this challenging year, non-profit organizations across the region need a helping hand – and all of us at blumshapiro are proud to play our small part in showing our support,” said Mary Kay Curtiss, blum partner and chair of the firm’s Planned Giving Committee. “We look forward to continuing our commitment to increasing the reach of our Foundation and seeking opportunities to make a difference in our communities.”
