BayCoast Bank recently contributed a $1,000 grant to Project Undercover, Rhode Island’s sole state-wide diaper bank.

The grant will be used to purchase new underwear for children, ages 2 to 10 years old, according to Project Undercover President Richard Fleischer, extending his thanks to BayCoast Bank.

Project Undercover works with 27 Rhode Island non-profits, supplying new diapers and underwear at no charge. Some 500,000 to 600,000 diapers will be distributed this year, according to Fleischer who noted that the organization’s name “refers to our mission of supplying the things unseen; items most people don’t think about, including diapers, underwear, socks and wipes.” Project Undercover has established relationships with sources that allow for the ability to purchase large quantities of diapers, socks and wipes at discount prices.

Stephanie Oster Wilmarth, Business Development & Relationship Management Officer with BayCoast Bank presented the donation, one that will cover the cost of between 1,000 and 1,200 pair of underwear.
