ORAM Corporate Advisors Collaborates with Investment Advisers on Cybersecurity Standards

With October being Cybersecurity Awareness Month, ORAM continues to help a wide range of firms operate effectively in a pandemic environment requiring increased remote locations

In spring 2019, Eventide centralized certain operations from the West coast to Boston and continued to grow its employee base. Eventide’s plans included a transition from its prior IT service provider to ORAM as well as a full headquarters build out at One International Place in Boston. In addition to transitioning all IT operations, ORAM helped design and plan Eventide’s physical and logical security environment, including its office configuration. ORAM works closely with Eventide’s senior management team to help meet security standards applied to SEC regulated entities, including considerations for business resiliency in the event of significant business disruptions such as business challenges posed by pandemics or other events.

Last year, ORAM conducted its standard 150-point technology checklist for when companies undergo a comprehensive office relocation, beginning with space and furniture planning, to technology, to high-level move planning, plans for the vacated space, communication, move preparation, moving day and settling in processes, and recommending important vendors.

“When Eventide moved their operation from the West coast to Boston, it was vital that a few key things were accomplished during the transition – privacy of their clients’ information had to remain intact, their Boston-based enterprise IT infrastructure had to be up and running immediately, and it had to be seamless,” said Ryan O’Ramsay Barrett, president, ORAM Corporate Advisors. “Now, about a year after that major move and amid the pandemic, our breadth of experience working with clients in the investment, wealth management and finance space, has proven to be invaluable. We worked with Eventide to ensure privacy, security, and minimal interruption of business operations as more employees transitioned to remote work locations.”

Like any complex process, office moves benefit from organized planning that breaks the process in to manageable phases. ORAM Corporate Advisors applied its expertise working with companies in the same industry as Eventide to make sure everything was planned for and executed using great attention to detail.

Eventide viewed its office move as an opportunity to plan, modernize and enhance IT systems and practices by partnering with ORAM. Using ORAM’s evaluation process examining everything from inventory of all office technology assets, including evaluations of WIFI network coverage, to evaluation of cybersecurity like multifactor implementation and password synchronization, and enforcement for Office 365 and Google Suite, Eventide took advantage of the right timing to improve and upgrade.
