Baker Newman Noyes (BNN), the fifth-largest regional accounting firm in New England by total revenue according to Accounting Today, announced it has expanded its Boston and Massachusetts presence with the signing of a lease for new offices in Woburn’s Unicorn Park development.
The lease was brokered by Boston Realty Advisors. BNN is taking over 6,000+/- square feet at 600 Unicorn Park, which is being designed by Margulies Perruzzi Architects and Creative Office Pavilion for today’s workforce and will be built out by Hyde Construction to accommodate up to 30 employees. A celebration ribbon cutting and an open house are planned for after the first of the year.
“This expansion provides our employees and clients with more options to best meet their needs,” said Dayton Benway, managing principal and director of the healthcare advisory group for Baker Newman Noyes. “We are finding that today’s workforce wants to work closer to where they live and play. Our new offices in Woburn will allow for more creative ways to use our space and enhance our service to clients in Massachusetts. And, more importantly, we’re seeing a higher demand for our services as companies continue to relocate and expand around the Boston area.”
BNN expects to move in to 600 Unicorn Park by year-end 2019. Once open, the new office will be led by longtime business leader, Bob Croak, who also oversees the firm’s downtown Boston office and who will be supported by four seasoned professionals recently hired to help spearhead this new growth initiative: Drew Nagus, Jeff Rogers, Chris Giallongo and Jim Guarino.
Nagus will be the Audit Principal with a focus on mid-sized businesses and large corporations across a wide range of industries including healthcare, biotech, life sciences, defense and technology. Rogers is a Senior Manager in the tax practice working with family-owned businesses. Giallongo is a Senior Manager in the tax practice working with C-corporations. Guarino is a managing director and Certified Financial Planner in the tax practice, serving high-net-worth families and individuals as well as closely-held businesses and their owners.
“Vital to our growth is the ability to maintain the right environment and culture to attract and retain talented professionals who not only possess the technical abilities and industry specializations but also enjoy an entrepreneurial and dynamic place to work. Our commitment to Massachusetts, one of the fastest growing areas in the country, simply makes sense,” continued Benway.
BNN expanded to Massachusetts in 2011 with the opening of its downtown office in Boston. Today, BNN has 265 employees, five offices across New England and, with this new office in Woburn, will be looking to add 15-20 employees over the next 12 to 24 months. BNN is headquartered in Portland, Maine.
