Joseph Fazio Joins JACA Architects as Associate, Director of Documentation and Construction Administration

JACA Architects, one of New England’s premier healthcare-exclusive architectural firms, is pleased to announce that Joseph Fazio has recently joined JACA Architects as an Associate and Director of Documentation and Construction Administration.

A LEED-accredited and licensed architect in Massachusetts and California, Fazio comes to JACA Architects most recently from Elkus Manfredi Architects, during which time he worked on the Boston Cathedral project. Fazio’s previous experience includes work with Prellwitz Chilinski Architects, Inc. in Cambridge as well as Obermeyer Middle East in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, where he supervised a staff of eight on-site to deliver the new, 4 million-square-foot Al Ain hospital, and at Burt Hill/Stantec in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., where he was one of two senior architects responsible for the highly advanced Mafraq Hospital, a 745-bed tertiary care hospital totaling 3.5 million square feet and exceeding $1 billion in construction costs.

Additional prior experience includes working as a primary core team member for a new, 385,000-square-foot research laboratory at the Koch Institute of Integrative Cancer Research for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology while at Ellenzweig, and work with Fresenius Medical Care and Marsters & Partners Architects.

A resident of Boston, Fazio earned a master of architecture degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor of science in architecture from Kent State University. Fazio also earned a certificate in laboratory planning and healthcare design through Harvard University, and studied architectural design at the Rosary College of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy.
