Axiom Architects Recognized by South Shore Towns during 40th Anniversary Celebration

12/18/18

In continued recognition of the 40th anniversary of Axiom Architects, a Hanover-based architectural firm that has developed a reputation for superior design work throughout New England and especially along the South Shore, from custom homes and multi-family condominiums to commercial and mixed-use spaces, the firm recently held an open house and 40th anniversary celebratory event.

In addition to family and friends of the Axiom Architects team, the firm celebrated with state and local officials, including State Senator Michael Brady, State Representative David DeCoste, Hanover Selectmen Chair Emmanuel Dockter, Hanover Town Manager Joe Colangelo, and Norwell Selectmen Chair Ellen Allen, among others. Senator Brady and Representative DeCoste both presented citations on behalf of the state legislature in gratitude of the firm’s 40 years of doing business on the South Shore and recognition of the firm’s contributions to Hanover and surrounding towns, especially Norwell, Cohasset, and Scituate.

Chairperson Allen presented founder Jim Kelliher with a letter she wrote on behalf of the Norwell Board of Selectmen, which cited several examples of Axiom’s contributions to the town over the decades and expressed appreciation for Axiom’s professional expertise and generous donation of time. Specifically, Allen noted that Axiom’s “work was invaluable in crafting the details of the Preservation Restriction that will protect in perpetuity the historic exterior of the Grange building,” and later concluded by noting that Kelliher’s “skills and commitment have enabled Norwell to simultaneously preserve landmarks in Norwell and make them more accessible to our residents.”

In addition to Norwell, Axiom Architects currently has two projects ongoing in Cohasset, including Cohasset Place, a mixed-use development that will feature retail establishments on the ground floor and residential apartments on upper floors, which is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2019.

Over the years, Axiom Architects has developed a reputation as a firm that is strong on design. Attention to detail is a priority that has become a trademark of their design work. Kelliher has created a team that combines this aspect with close listening to the needs and concerns of clients to create quality design work that additionally achieves clients’ requirements.

In addition to Kelliher, the Axiom Architects team includes fellow architect and son Daniel James “Jamie” Kelliher, AIA, Steve Noonan, Paul Ford, and Kathy Kennedy.

“We are humbled by the outpouring of gratitude and good wishes,” said Kelliher. “It was a wonderful celebration of all that we’ve accomplished over the last four decades, and especially nice to see friends and colleagues from so many South Shore towns that we’ve worked in represented. We are excited for our many ongoing projects as well, and look forward to continuing to add to our body of work in the years ahead.”
