Full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties proudly announces that CEO Karen Fish-Will and COO Melissa Fish-Crane have received the Anna Bissonnette Award from Hearth, Inc.

Fish-Will and Fish-Crane accepted the award during the Hearth Inc. annual celebration and award gala, held on November 8th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.

Hearth, Inc., based in Boston, is dedicated to ending elderly homelessness and older adult homelessness through the creation and management of affordable supportive housing programs, outreach and housing search services and advocacy, changing the lives of Boston’s most vulnerable populations.

The sisters were recognized for their dedication to developing and managing high-quality affordable housing for veterans, families, and the homeless and lauded for “exemplifying Anna’s spirit and belief in helping others less fortunate.” Additionally, the Fish sisters affirmed their commitment to continuing their partnership with Hearth in addressing homelessness among older adults, including through a new project, Hearth at Four Corners, scheduled to open in early 2020.

“Working with Melissa and Karen has been great,” said Mark Hinderlie, president and CEO of Hearth, Inc. “They worked hard to understand the special challenges we face with our vulnerable seniors, were open to different approaches to service, and brought the entire Peabody family’s deep expertise to enhance Hearth’s work and to advance our mission.”

The award is named after founder, Anna Bissonnette, former Boston Medical Center nurse, gerontology and public health instructor who attended the recent awards ceremony. She has long been an advocate for housing for the geriatric homeless and was a catalyst in founding a transitional housing program at Boston University called Elders Living at Home. This award is bestowed upon an individual(s) that have had a profound and direct impact on changing the lives of Boston’s homeless and at-risk populations.

"We are honored to be named the recipients of the prestigious Anna Bissonnette Award and all that it represents,” said Fish-Crane. “Hearth Inc.’s commitment to lessening the plight of chronic homeless elders is beyond admirable.”

Both Fish-Will and Fish-Crane are residents of Hingham, Mass.
