Peabody Properties Begins Pre-Leasing The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg House - Brand New Affordable Rental Housing in Brighton for Seniors 62+

10/23/18

Peabody Properties (www.peabodyproperties.com), a full-service real estate and property management firm, recently announced the pre-leasing phase of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg House, located at 132 Chestnut Hill Avenue on the Brighton campus of 2Life Communities. The first residents are expected to be welcomed in February 2019.

2Life Communities (formerly Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly) is a non-profit organization founded in 1965, and a national pioneer in providing high-quality homes that are also affordable at a variety of income levels. 2Life creates communities with a laser sharp focus on affordability, and serves a diverse population of more than 1,500 older adults. The organization operates on the belief that all seniors should have the opportunity to live a full life of connection and purpose in a dynamic, supportive environment – a model called aging in community, which directly combats the growing public health crisis of social isolation and loneliness amongst older adults. The motto, “Age Affordably. Live Well.” speaks to the service-enriched non-sectarian communities they create, where residents can step out the doors of their own apartments and find friendship, physical and intellectual stimulation, and a helping hand day or night.

The residents of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg House (Weinberg House) will benefit from existing 2Life resources. The new building is connected by an enclosed pedestrian bridge to the existing 700-apartment Brighton campus, with amenities that include a robust fitness and wellness program, a multi-lingual library, a state-of-the-art auditorium, an art studio, meeting rooms, lounge areas, intergenerational activities, and lifelong learning opportunities, as well as 24/7/365 maintenance and emergency response. This brand-new community includes 56 one-bedroom and five studio homes, and is located in a neighborhood that features shopping, fine restaurants, and entertainment and is close to all major highway routes, bus and rail transportation.

The rent for 39 of the 1-bedroom homes will be set at $976/month, including utilities. Residents must income-qualify under the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program, which limits total household income to 60% of AMI (area median income). Maximum qualifying income for a one-person household is $45,300, and for a two-person household is $51,780. At least one resident in each household must be 62 years of age or older.

“We are very excited to be part of the team adding this beautiful senior living community to the 2Life Communities campus in Brighton,” said Karen Fish-Will, CEO for Peabody Properties, who is working with 2Life as the marketing consultant for the project. “Seniors who live in the area and want to remain near family and friends have this great new community to look forward to,” she said.

The leasing office, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 40 Wallingford Road, is showcasing the Weinberg House finishes and amenities. Team members are available to answer questions and provide additional information on qualifying for this brand new affordable rental opportunity.
