Peabody Properties, Community Teamwork and Merrimack Valley Housing Services Celebrate 35th Anniversary of Merrimack Valley Apartments

Merrimack Valley Apartments in Methuen, Massachusetts, a community of 60 apartment homes managed by Peabody Properties, a full-service real estate and property management firm, recently celebrated its 35th anniversary and new community room dedication with an event attended by residents, staff and local officials, as well as Community Teamwork (CTI) and the Board of Directors of Merrimack Valley Housing Services (MVHS).

Taking place at the community, the celebration and ribbon-cutting featured food, live music, and camaraderie. The community room was dedicated and named for Bill Lipchitz, for his longtime association with the project. Additionally, Jennie Bova, 99, the longest resident at Merrimack Valley Apartments at 34 years, was acknowledged and presented a citation from Dennis Marcello, District Director for Senator Kathleen O’Connor Ives, and Representative Diana Dizoglio. Methuen Mayor Jajuga also spoke at the event along with City Council members.

“What a wonderful celebration of 35 years,” said Melissa Hume, Property Manager of Merrimack Valley Apartments. “We are grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and to Community Teamwork and Merrimack Valley Housing Services, especially Bill Lipchitz for his lifelong compassion and dedication to the Merrimack Valley housing community and its residents. As his plaque reads, ‘we are better because of you.’”

Merrimack Valley Apartments is a community of 60 apartment homes spread among six buildings that offer spacious one-bedroom apartment homes with easy access to Riverview Boulevard Park, Schruender Park and Lorenz Park, as well as downtown Methuen, Lawrence, and the New Hampshire border. Merrimack Valley Apartments was developed by CTI as a HUD 202 project in 1983, and is predominately designed for seniors 62+ as well as persons with disabilities who are under age 62.
