Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, a South Shore practice specializing in unique programs that provide comprehensive treatment in orthopedic, spine and sports medicine specialties, is pleased to announce that Yi Ching Tan, DPT of Quincy, Massachusetts, has joined the firm as a staff Physical Therapist in the Quincy location.

In this role, she diagnoses and provides care for patients to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.

Tan recently received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York.

During her undergraduate education, Tan was the teaching assistant for the lab component of Biomechanics and Gross Anatomy classes, in addition to Research Assistant at the Division of Behavioral Medicine lab at the University of Buffalo – SUNY.

She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association – MA chapter, Neuro/Ortho section; certified as an Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine; and is CPR/AED certified.

Tan participates annually in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk and as an undergraduate at the University of Buffalo provided an exercise program for staff and faculty.

Originally from Singapore, Tan now lives in Quincy where in her spare time she enjoys reading, working out at the gym, travel and music.
