Twin Rivers Technologies, Inc., a Quincy, MA-based oleochemical production facility, recently volunteered with Road To Responsibility, Inc. (RTR; www.roadtoresponsibility.org), an organization dedicated to making lives better for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
RTR identified one of their Marshfield houses, which is home to five individuals, as in need of some exterior treatment. Volunteers from Twin Rivers Technologies (TRT) made some repairs to a wheelchair ramp to the house, built a garden using new pavers and planted annuals and perennials around the home. TRT spread new mulch on the front and back of the home, and planted yellow flowers under the trees in the front of the home – a special touch for one of the residents, whose favorite color is yellow. Finally, they made arrangements for a power-washing company to come back in a couple of weeks to clean the exterior of the home.
Volunteers from Twin Rivers Technologies included President and CEO Scott Chatlin, COO Todd Lyman, Frank Greene, and Vince Tersegno, among others.
Serenity Belo, director of development for Road to Responsibility, first met Lyman at a South Shore Chamber of Commerce breakfast several years ago. The company has been a frequent volunteer with RTR since.
