Beacon Health Options (Beacon) today announced that Thurman Justice has joined the national behavioral health management leader as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective July 9, 2018. As CFO, Mr. Justice leads all aspects of Beacon's financial operations. He reports to Russell C. Petrella, Ph.D., Beacon's President and Chief Executive Officer.
"Thurman brings to Beacon a dynamic combination of financial expertise, a proven track record of accomplishments, and extensive experience in the health care sector. He will play a key role as an important strategic thought partner to me and to our clients, and to Beacon's operations and clinical leadership," said Dr. Petrella. "These partnerships will help guide the company's consistent and sustainable financial performance in line with our long-term strategic objectives."
Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Justice served as CFO of Senior Whole Health, a leading multi-state health plan serving members eligible for Medicaid and Medicare. There, he was responsible for all financial functions, business processes and systems, and enterprise analytics in support of the organization's high-growth strategy. Prior to Senior Whole Health, he had been Vice President - Enterprise Operations for Travelers Insurance Company where he oversaw enterprise billing, accounts receivable management, and overall agency administration. From 1999 to 2008, Mr. Justice served in various financial roles at Cigna Corporation, including Controller and Finance Office. There, he led the design and execution of the management process for the Health Care Division and the Information Technology and Operations organizations.
A certified public accountant, Mr. Justice holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University.
