Pirates Quarterback Sean Brackett Named Offensive Player of the Week for the National Arena Football League

The Massachusetts Pirates quarterback Sean Brackett has been named the Offensive Player of the week for the National Arena Football League.

In their game against the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Brackett’s line was 26 or 39 for 288 yards, 7 touchdowns and one interception. This was the second game of the season where he had 7 touchdown passes in a game.

The Brooklyn, Connecticut native enjoyed tremendous success playing collegiately in the Ivy-League at Columbia University. The former 1st- Team All-Ivy League quarterback appeared in 33 games throughout his career totaling 6,273 passing yards, while picking up 1,233 yards on the ground and reaching the end zone 57 times as a Lion.

Since his days in college, Brackett has been a mainstay in the American Football League (AFL) with 3,226 total yards and 67 total touchdowns throughout his career playing for the Las Vegas Outlaws, Jacksonville Sharks, and most recently the Washington Valor in 2017. Brackett enjoyed his most successful year in the AFL in 2017 when he passed for 1,866 yards with 36 touchdowns to only 10 interceptions while completing 61% of his passes. Brackett currently resides in Quincy, Massachusetts.

The Pirates (8-3) are in first place in the National Arena Football League following a 53-34 point win at home over the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks.

The team will travel to Columbus (6-3) to face the Lions next Saturday June 30th at 7 pm to take on the Lions. The Pirates (8-3) also lead the league in statistics with .727 PF, 595 PA and 484 PCT.

Fans can also enjoy the games on NESN (New England Sports Network) which is televising all eight (8) Pirates home games during the 2018 season on tape-delay on NESNplus. Each of these games will also air on NESN National and on NESN primary during the week.

NESN is also airing an all access show on the team with behind the scenes footage.

NESN will also be airing multiple thirty minute documentary specials beginning in May, following the Pirates as they navigate through their first season of action.
