Brenda O’Connell, PT with Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, a South Shore practice specializing in unique programs that provide comprehensive treatment in orthopedic, spine and sports medicine specialties recently performed a dry needling therapy demonstration at Marathon Sports in Norwell.
Dry needling is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into muscle knots, tendons, ligaments or near nerves to stimulate a healing response in painful musculoskeletal conditions such as shoulder impingement, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, headaches, plantar fasciitis or low back pain.
O’Connell educated Marathon Sports customers on the many benefits of dry needling while performing demonstrations on interested parties.
“We’re always more than happy to share our knowledge about the value of dry needling, a therapy that is sometimes overlooked, said Eric Edelman, PT and owner of Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance. “We look forward to participating in future presentations at Marathon Sports.”
