Falconi Companies Introduces Initial Adams Court Development Plan to Board of Selectmen

Representatives of Falconi Companies, a Milton-based, family business established in 1950 specializing in the construction and management of office, retail and residential buildings, discussed plans recently for their proposed property development in East Milton Square with members of the Board of Selectmen.

Bob Falconi and Jeanne Falconi Schmidt were joined by architect, Andrew Stebbins of The Architectural Team, Inc., and attorney Edward (Ned) Corcoran. Prior to the meeting with the Selectmen, the Falconis also met informally with the Milton Planning Board, as well as numerous meetings with Milton community group.

The Falconi family proposes a development on their property adjacent to Franklin Street that would potentially include a structured parking garage, upgraded commercial and retail space, and a number of one- and two-bedroom apartments. At this point the final number of apartments and parking spaces in the plan may vary depending on the direction of the town. Under consideration is whether the Town of Milton adopts a 40R overlay zoning change which provides smart growth planning and financial incentives to the community.

“From the beginning, we have sought to plan a development that the people of Milton will look to with pride and which will benefit the community,” said Bob Falconi. He added, “We anticipate that the final plan will include upgraded, state-of-the-art commercial and retail space, as well as apartments ideal for millennials starting out and people looking to downsize.” He noted that all tenants in existing buildings will be relocated to upgraded facilities on the site, which will offer more amenities than the current buildings do. . He said, “The concept of mixed use development here in Milton, and elsewhere, is badly needed. Having apartments and services needed nearby offers great amenities for people who downsize, as well as for younger people just starting out.”

There is a meeting scheduled for June 21 between the Selectmen and Planning Board at which the Falconis will provide more details of their proposal.
