Robert Mancini to Retire from Carlyle Power Partners

5/24/18

Robert Mancini is retiring from Carlyle Group as of June 30. Mancini joined the firm in 2012 and is currently a managing director, partner and co-head of Carlyle Power Partners. He is staying on at the firm until the end of the year as a senior adviser. He was previously a managing director at Goldman Sachs. Mancini, 60, raised two funds to invest in the North American power generation sector at Carlyle. In 2013, Carlyle Power Partners I collected an aggregate $900 million in capital, which included co-investments, new products and an existing fund. Fund II closed on $1.5 billion in 2016. While he is retiring from Carlyle, Mancini said he’ll likely do something else. “I’d like to do something in the investment world that is different than investing in the U.S. power space,” he said. Carlyle declined comment.
