NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Select Income REIT (Nasdaq: SIR) today announced that David M. Blackman has been elected as a Managing Trustee of SIR effective April 2, 2018 to fill a vacancy on the Board.

Mr. Blackman (age 55) has been President and Chief Operating Officer of SIR since 2012. In addition, Mr. Blackman is Executive Vice President of The RMR Group LLC and serves as an executive officer of other publicly traded companies managed by The RMR Group LLC. Prior to joining The RMR Group in 2009, Mr. Blackman was a real estate investment banker at Wachovia Corporation and its predecessors for over 20 years.
