Baker Newman Noyes (BNN) announced that Robert Gilbert has joined the growing healthcare consulting practice as a senior manager in the firm’s Portsmouth office, specializing in operational processes including charge master reviews and optimization, accounts receivable cash acceleration, revenue cycle workflow redesigns, revenue integrity, claims review, charge capture audits and provider reimbursement.
Gilbert, of Dover, New Hampshire, joins BNN from Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, where he served as Director of Medical Information and, before that, as Manager of Revenue Integrity. With more than 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Gilbert has a deep understanding of revenue cycle management for hospitals and healthcare organizations and how to recognize and implement opportunities for improvement.
“As the healthcare industry continues to face growing uncertainty, our healthcare clients increasingly rely on our experts to guide them through policy and regulatory changes,” said Dayton Benway, director of the healthcare consulting practice at BNN. “Robert has exactly the expertise to lead our clients through these challenges, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him onboard.”
Gilbert is the past president of the Healthcare Financial Management Association New Hampshire/Vermont chapter, and he continues to be an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Academy of Professional Coders. Gilbert earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and policy from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University. He has won multiple awards from the Healthcare Financial Management Association, is a certified outpatient coder, and is certified in Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
Beyond traditional audit and tax services within the healthcare sector, BNN provides a unique set of additional offerings that can help clients manage the complicated healthcare regulation landscape. Clients of BNN’s healthcare consulting practice include acute care, rehabilitation and psychiatric hospitals; home health agencies and outpatient centers; skilled nursing, residential care and assisted living facilities; and physician and physician practice groups.
