Whitney Warlick
Will help bring together Young Professionals Group and API Houston Chapter
Shepley Bulfinch, a national architecture firm known for design excellence and innovation with offices in Boston, Houston and Phoenix, announced today that Whitney Warlick has been appointed to the board of directors of the Houston chapter of the American Petroleum Institute (API). Whitney began her term on the API-Houston chapter board in December of 2016, having served as the events chair of API-Houston’s Young Professionals Group (YP) since February of 2016 when she first joined the organization. In this role, Whitney will work with the board to increase the number and variety of events hosted by the Houston chapter to further engage the membership. As a member of both the API-Houston chapter board and the API-Houston YP group, Whitney will work with both groups to effectively bridge the gap between the younger generation and the long-standing chapter members.
“We are very proud of Whitney for this appointment and know that her energy and enthusiasm will bring fresh ideas to the API-Houston Chapter,” said Mark Boone, AIA, principal in the Houston office of Shepley Bulfinch.
In her role as marketing and business development manager at Shepley Bulfinch, Whitney works closely with principals to maintain existing client relationships and to establish new ones. She collaborates with principals to manage business development strategy and the proposal/interview process from start to finish. A graduate of Louisiana Technical University, Whitney’s marketing and communications experience also includes working on events, collateral materials, social media, websites, market research and branding.
API is a nonprofit organization of oil and gas professionals dedicated to providing a forum for discussion of energy related issues and promoting actions to improve the energy industry through education and personal interaction. The API-Houston chapter is open to any individual 18 years or older who is actively engaged in the petroleum industry and has the largest membership of any API chapter in the world, with an average annual local membership of more than 2000.
