Silver Point Capital, L.P. Closes $552 Million Specialty Credit Fund

1/23/17

Silver Point Capital, L.P. has announced the final closing of the Silver Point Specialty Credit Fund at $552 million in committed capital, exceeding the Firm's stated target of $400 million-$500 million.

The Specialty Credit Fund will pursue a senior secured lending strategy, focused on small- and middle-market and special situations lending. The Fund will seek to leverage Silver Point's long-standing experience investing in self-originated and secondary secured debt, broad sourcing platform, deep credit analysis, underwriting skills, and active approach to asset management in order to capitalize on the opportunity. With the leverage permitted by the Fund, in addition to other capital committed to the strategy, Silver Point expects to have more than $1 billion in capital to deploy into the strategy.
