Deepak Taneja, founder of Aveksa and founding team member of Netegrity, brings 25 years of experience in creating and leading enterprise software companies to ObserveIT; Company opens new 10,000 square foot world headquarters in Boston to further support its growth and market success

On December 5th, ObserveIT, the world’s leading provider of insider threat management solutions with more than 1,400 customers around the world, announced that security industry leader Deepak Taneja, the founder of Aveksa and the CTO and founding team member of Netegrity, has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Taneja’s arrival coincides with ObserveIT’s expansion to new world headquarters in Boston.  Both moves support the company’s ongoing success and market leadership in helping IT and information security teams to identify and eliminate insider threats.

Among Mr. Taneja’s many accomplishments in the security industry is his founding of Aveksa, which pioneered the concept of access governance and business-driven identity management. Aveksa's industry leadership and market success led to its acquisition by RSA in 2013, which is now part of Dell EMC. Additionally, Taneja was a founding team member of Netegrity Inc., an identity management company that grew quickly from a small start-up to over $100M in revenue, and was acquired by CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) in 2004.

In addition to serving as the VP and CTO of Identity at RSA, founder and CTO of Aveska, and CTO and founding team member of Netegrity, Taneja’s experience also includes serving as the Director of Engineering at SwitchBoard, Inc. and Banyan Systems.

“As someone who has founded, built and sold companies that pioneered changes in the security industry, I know first-hand the elements needed for organizations to succeed in a very competitive marketplace,” said Taneja. “I am very proud to be joining ObserveIT’s Board of Directors and believe that we are incredibly well positioned for success.  We have unmatched technology that is affordable and easy to deploy, and most importantly, our solutions solve the most challenging and unaddressed security problem facing companies today – insider threats.”

“Deepak Taneja is known across North America and the world not just as an innovator, but as a proven thought leader in the security industry who has the strategic vision and expertise needed to drive success,” said ObserveIT CEO Mike McKee.  “We are very fortunate to have him as part of our senior team.  He has helped thousands of organizations become more secure, and we are confident that he will help accelerate ObserveIT’s leadership in the Insider Threat market.”

To meet the demands of its continuing growth, ObserveIT has also moved its global headquarters to 200 Clarendon Street in Boston, Massachusetts.  The relocation from its previous smaller offices in the same city to the iconic 62-story, 790-foot skyscraper formerly known as the John Hancock Building, cements the company’s commitment to Boston’s vibrant economy.

“Our new state-of-the-art headquarters, with 10,000 square feet of offices, incredible IT infrastructure and collaborative workspaces gives us the room we need as we continue to expand our workforce,” explained McKee.  “Boston is a great city to do business from – the region is home to scores of security companies, hundreds technology firms, and world-renowned educational institutions such as MIT and Harvard – giving us the ability to attract the industry’s best to the ObserveIT team.”
