Diane Y. Baxter, PhD, P.E.
GZA, a leading environmental and geotechnical consulting firm, announces that Diane Y. Baxter, PhD, P.E. has been promoted to Associate Principal in the Providence, Rhode Island office.
Dr. Baxter joined GZA in 2000 and specializes in geotechnical engineering. Recent projects have included the Block Island Wind Farm and the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal. She also has experience with soil-bentonite walls, peat, dry docks and deep excavations.
Dr. Baxter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Rhode Island and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
She is active in numerous non-profit organizations including the Justin Monaghan Fund, MS Society, RI Food Bank and Amos House. Dr. Baxter resides in Cranston, Rhode Island with her husband and their two daughters,
