Adam Leonard
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named Adam Leonard, formerly with Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, Inc. and presently a Senior Project Manager at RDK Engineers as recipient of the 2016 Young Professional Award.
The award was announced at the recent ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala with emcees MA State Senator Karen Spilka and MA Secretary of Transportation Stephanie Pollack.
The ACEC/MA Young Professional Award recognizes the accomplishments of young engineers who have made outstanding contributions to the profession, possess a high level of integrity and whose work has made a positive impact on society. Award winners are engineers, age 30 or under with a degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited US college or university.
Leonard, who holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont, is an active member of the New England Healthcare Engineers Society (NEHES), participates in various American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) events and volunteers with Walk for Hunger and the Fisher House Boston.
While a Project Manager at Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, Inc., he managed the redevelopment of the iconic Claire T. Carney Library for the University of Massachusetts, leading his team in redesigning a LEED Certified, energy efficient and cost saving facility, while maintaining the historic architecture and significance of the building.
“Adam has demonstrated a passion for the profession and clearly believes that every day offers an opportunity to learn something new,” said ACEC/MA President David Vivilecchia. “It is a pleasure to honor him with our Young Professional Award.”
