Joe Schwab Joins Block Engineering as VP of Marketing and Sales

Block Engineering, a leading manufacturer of Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) based infrared analyzers, announced today that Joe Schwab has joined the company as the new Vice President of Marketing and Sales.

"Joe has a strong background in the process analytical instrumentation markets and decades of experience with all types of industrial analyzers and their application in oil and gas, chemical and environmental monitoring," said Dr. Daniel J. Cavicchio, Jr., Executive Chairman of Block Engineering.

Dr. Petros Kotidis, CEO of Block, added, "I am really excited to have Joe join our team and lead our sales and marketing efforts. Block recently entered the process analytical instrumentation markets with a series of new, QCL-based gas and liquid analyzers, which offer breakthrough advantages and enable many new applications."

Joe joins Block from AMETEK, a leading analytical instruments company, where he rose to the level of Business Unit Manager of AMETEK Process Instruments. Prior to AMETEK, Joe also worked as an Account Manager at ASI Applied Systems, a Mettler Toledo company, which was a leading manufacturer of laboratory and process FTIRs and was responsible for the sales of analytical instruments in the Gulf, West Coast and Mexico. Prior to that, Joe also worked at ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) Process Analytics company, one of the largest process control companies in the world. After successfully completing several assignments, including Applications and Service Engineer, Market Product Specialist, he was responsible for sales of gas chromatographs, photometers, mass spectrometers, oxygen analyzers and sample systems in the Beaumont and Port Arthurarea of Texas.

Joe holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and an M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV.
