In continuing to respond to the needs of individuals and families and in keeping with its mission, NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS; www.nhsmass.org), the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, recently announced it is now offering free online first-time homebuyer classes via the NHS website.
All NHS hybrid classes are CHAPA- and HUD-certified, which are strongly recommended by organizations like MassHousing and the Massachusetts Housing Partnership. All participants receive a follow-up phone call or classroom-style Zoom meeting option to create an individualized action plan, review credit reports and speak directly with lenders and Realtors. Participants also learn about local down payment assistance programs, renovation grants and loans they may be eligible for. “Providing buyers the opportunity to interact directly with local professionals in the industry, even if only virtually, is a key component to their learning and understanding of the local market,” said Elvira Caldeira, Director of Homeownership at NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions.
To register, participants sign up through the NHS website, where they will receive a coupon code that they can use to access the free hybrid classes.
First-time homebuyer education is one of many services offered by NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions. Additional services include landlord training, foreclosure prevention counseling, and property listings, as well as lending, housing rehabilitation, and housing development services.
