Magazine honors the best employers in Massachusetts; Peabody Properties earns recognition for third consecutive year

Full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties has been named one of the “Top Places to Work” in Massachusetts in the 12th annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe. The “Top Places to Work 2019” issue was published online at Globe.com/topplaces on the night of November 14, and will be published in The Boston Globe Magazine on November 17.

“Top Places to Work” recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them best – their employees. The survey measures employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay, benefits, and engagement. The employers are placed into one of four groups: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 employees; large, with 250 to 999 employees; and largest, with 1,000 or more employees.

Peabody Properties was ranked 25 (out of 36) in the large employer category.

With more than 40 years of experience as a full-service real estate company, and under the leadership of Principals (and sisters) Karen Fish-Will (CEO) and Melissa Fish-Crane (COO), Peabody Properties has established a company culture where people are valued, great work is rewarded, and professional development is encouraged through continued training and education. Peabody Properties has implemented quarterly Family Days, which are paid-for trips to attractions like whale-watching or apple-picking to enhance social wellbeing among their team members and their immediate families. The organization also continues to offer and encourage continuing education through Peabody University, an in-house classroom that provides employees with several options for enhancing their skills and aptitude. Peabody Properties is committed to their employees, rewards their achievements, and strives to foster a positive, supportive, caring, and enjoyable workplace.

“We are thrilled to have achieved this distinction from the Boston Globe for the third consecutive year,” said Fish-Will. “We are grateful to the Boston Globe for this recognition, and are so gratified that our team members continue to feel valued and appreciated, because they definitely are!”

“This award is a real testament to the passion and commitment exemplified by our employees,” added Fish-Crane. “We are so thankful for them, and truly appreciate their constant efforts on behalf of Peabody Properties.”

“The companies that make our list are much more than just decent employers,” said Katie Johnston, the Globe’s “Top Places to Work” editor. “They make work fun, and they make their people feel cared for. Some of them even help employees realize dreams that have nothing to do with their jobs.”

The rankings in the “Top Places to Work” are based on confidential survey information collected by Energage (formerly Workplace Dynamics), an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, from nearly 66,000 individuals at 323 Massachusetts organizations. The winners share a few key traits, including offering progressive benefits, giving their employees a voice, and encouraging them to have some fun while they’re at it.
