Both locations to be celebrated with ribbon-cuttings, October 11 and October 17

The Arc of the South Shore, a family-oriented, community-based non-profit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities, will be celebrating the renovation of their Day Habilitation Program and Community-Based Day Services location, as well as the addition of new administrative office spaces, with two separate ribbon-cuttings planned for next month.

The Arc’s original location, at 371 River Street in Weymouth, has been completely renovated and will continue to host their Day Habilitation Program and Community-Based Day Services. This newly refurbished space will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting on Friday, October 11, at 10 a.m.

To provide more room for the Day Habilitation Program and Community-Based Day Services, all administrative offices were moved from the 371 River Street location to a new space at 20 Pond Park in Hingham. This new location will also be introduced to the public via ribbon-cutting on Thursday, October 17, at 5 p.m.

The Arc of the South Shore (The Arc) was founded in 1951 when a group of individuals created a school for children with disabilities. Then, in 1967, The Arc was deeded property at Webb State Park in Weymouth; the space gave the agency a permanent home and the opportunity to expand. The Arc serves participants from communities throughout the South Shore, including Abington, Milton, Quincy, Randolph, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Scituate, and Norwell.
