Bedford Green Apartments, a 55+ veterans’ supportive housing community located on the Bedford VA Medical Center Campus in Bedford, MA, managed by full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties, recently had four residents play in the Strongwater Farms Veteran Golf Tournament held on June 28th. The residents were sponsored by the Affordable Housing and Services Collaborative (AHSC). The Bedford Green Team placed third out of more than 20 teams.
The generous donation from the AHSC is also allowing the Bedford Green (and Pleasant Street Apartments, Beverly, MA) veteran residents to experience a four-week equestrian horse farm program in August, as well as the Strongwater Farm Veterans’ Luncheon, scheduled to take place near Veterans Day.
After the tournament, five additional residents joined the dinner and raffle at the Tewksbury Country Club. Residents won raffle items such as lessons with the golf pro at Tewksbury Country Club, a foursome at another golf club, and a signed Bobby Orr photo.
“AHSC is proud to support Strongwater Farm’s Freedom Riders Program,” said Michael Mattos, president of the AHSC. “The program’s equine therapy and group outings have been extremely beneficial to the quality of life of the veterans living at Pleasant Street Apartments and Bedford Green.”
