Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Commonwealth Real Estate today announced the appointment of Bob Leighton as Sales Manager of their East Greenwich, RI office.

Leighton will oversee a team of 35 real estate professionals at the East Greenwich office, located at 461 Main Street. He will also be a key figure in Commonwealth’s expansion efforts in Rhode Island. Commonwealth merged with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gammons Realty earlier this year. The agency has served the entire state of Rhode Island, Southeastern MA and part of Connecticut since its founding in 2001.

Leighton comes to Berkshire Hathaway with an impressive resume of real estate experience. For the past seven-plus years, he was part of the RE/MAX team where he was responsible for their growth throughout the New England states, as well as building their brokerage network.

Leighton also at one time owned a multi-office real estate brokerage in eastern Connecticut which he sold to DeWolfe and then worked as a senior leader with DeWolfe prior to their sale to NRT. While with DeWolfe he co-led their Rhode Island and Mass South regions. His experience also includes running a fifteen office, five hundred agent ERA company owned by NRT in central Pennsylvania.
