Acella Construction Corporation, a leader in construction management for educational, medical and not-for-profit organizations in Boston and on the South Shore, recently completed construction for the South Boston Animal Hospital, located at 9 West Broadway in South Boston.
Acella managed the 2,500-square-foot gut and interior renovation of the growing veterinary practice and retail space. The project encompassed clinical, office and retail spaces, as well as inclusion of a state-of-the-art surgery suite and physical therapy area with new hydrotherapy treadmill. Specific project components included new MEP systems, interior architectural woodwork, construction of kennels and animal shelters, and installation of acoustical ceilings, resilient epoxy flooring, visual display surfaces, and signage.
Additionally, the new storefront entrance was carefully coordinated to ensure pedestrian safety in the high-traffic, residential area.
The architect on the project was Capone Architecture of Boston. Mike Towle served as the project manager for Acella.
