Colliers International, Boston Buttons Up Sale of Former Windsor Button Building in Downtown Crossing

9/25/16

Colliers International, Boston announces the sale of 29-35 Temple Place, currently operating as a 6-story boarding house with 48 rooms plus ground floor and lower level retail space in the heart of Downtown Crossing. Colliers Boston’s Multi-Family Investment Sales team of Chris Sower, Jen Price, Jonathan Bryant, and Maggie Collins represented the seller, Temple Place Development LLC, in successfully transacting a twelve-million dollar sale to Torrington Properties who plans to continue operating the boarding house component and re-lease the well located ground floor retail space.

The Colliers Retail team of Peter Montesanto and Amelie Lonczak will continue to advise new ownership, Torrington Properties, in the 7,600-square-foot leasing assignment that can also offer a full liquor license. The ground level, Ladder District space is just steps from the Ritz Carlton and new Millennium Tower, providing great restaurant foot traffic in addition to premier transit access via the Red, Orange, Green and Silver line MTBA station stops close by.

“29-35 Temple Place is a unique and underutilized asset in its current state,” said Chris Sower, senior vice president of the Multi-Family Investment Sales team. “It benefits from being in a location experiencing explosive growth, both on the commercial and residential front, a combination which ultimately made it a prime investment opportunity for Torrington.”
