Governor Baker Selects Seasoned Real Estate Exec to Help Oversee UMass Campuses

Lupoli Companies announced today that Vice President of Real Estate Gerry-Lynn Darcy has been selected by Governor Charlie Baker to be a member of the UMass Building Authority.

In this role Gerry-Lynn joins 10 other c-suite executives throughout Massachusetts responsible for the oversight of the organization, which builds facilities on University of Massachusetts campuses. These include student dormitories, dining facilities, parking garages, academic buildings, laboratories, athletic facilities, heating plants, and other facilities, along with renovations and repairs to existing properties. Gerry-Lynn will play an integral role in shaping the future of all five UMass campuses.

“We are excited to welcome Gerry-Lynn as a member of the UMass Building Authority,” said UMBA Board Chairman and UMass alum Philip Johnston. “Her extensive background in real estate development and construction, in conjunction with her long-standing involvement in several industry organizations throughout her career makes her a perfect fit for the role.”

Gerry-Lynn brings more than 20 years of real estate experience to this new role. For the past few years she has been instrumental in the growth of Lupoli Companies’ real estate division. With her oversight, the company has been able to take on several new projects throughout the Merrimack Valley, expanding the company’s footprint to 4.6 million square feet. “I am honored to be recognized by Governor Charlie Baker and appointed to this role.” Gerry-Lynn said. “The UMass Building Authority is integral in shaping one of the state’s vital institutions and I look forward to working with other esteemed members to be a part of that.

Gerry-Lynn received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from Wheaton College and her Master’s in Business Administration from Endicott College’s Van Loan School of Management.
