BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Association of Corporate Directors New England Chapter (NACDNE) has named as its new president Cathy Minehan, former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston CEO and current member of 10 for-profit and non-profit boards, along with a new chair and five new board members.

Moving from president to chair is Beth I. Z. Boland, Chair of Foley & Lardner LLP’s Securities Enforcement and Litigation Practice, and the five new directors are:

  • Darren Donovan, Managing Principal for KPMG’s Boston office
  • Quincy Miller, Eastern Bank President and Vice Chairman
  • Christopher Oddliefson, CEO of Rockland Trust Company and its parent, Independent Bank Corp (Nasdaq Global Select Market: INDB)
  • James E. Rooney, President and CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce
  • Linda Whitlock, principal of The Whitlock Group and former CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.

“All of us at NACDNE could not be more honored and grateful that one of New England’s most respected and accomplished business and civic leaders, Cathy Minehan, is stepping up to lead our organization as president,’’ Ms. Boland said. In addition to her service with the Boston Fed, Ms. Minehan served as Dean of the School of Management at Simmons College from 2011-16.

“Peer-to-peer insight sharing is vital to advancing excellence in the boardroom, whether it’s public or private companies or not-for-profit organizations, and NACDNE has proven to be an invaluable resource for making those connections,’’ Ms. Minehan said. “Our five new board members bring even greater diversity and wider perspectives to NACDNE’s board, and they are all leaders with strong personal networks and the ability to mobilize them and to continue to transform NACDNE for the digital era.’’

Because of the restrictions on in-person gatherings imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, NACDNE has pivoted to online programming, maintaining a robust schedule of panel discussions, speeches, and networking sessions throughout 2020-21.

Ms. Boland, as NACDNE’s new chair, is succeeding co-chairs William Earon, managing director at Coastal Capital Advisors, and Robert Popeo, Member and Chairman of the Boston-based law firm Mintz. Both will remain members of NACDNE’s board of directors.

“We cannot thank Bob and Bill enough for their years of faithful service and wise leadership of NACDNE’s board, and all their colleagues and I are deeply grateful they will continue to serve as directors of our organization,’’ Ms. Boland said.
