WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP) today announced the appointment of Judith Ursitti, CPA, as its new Vice President of Community Affairs.
“I am ecstatic to have Judith Ursitti join CASP,” said CASP CEO Lorri Unumb. “Judith and I have a long, successful working relationship, and I am 100 percent confident that her talent, know-how, and passion are going to drive CASP to the next level in representing and serving autism provider organizations.”
Ursitti arrives to CASP after 12 years at Autism Speaks, where she most recently served as director of state government affairs.
“Ensuring that people diagnosed with autism have access to evidence-based services, no matter where they live, is a core mission of mine. This mission has manifested itself for me professionally over the past decade in my dedication to passage and implementation of meaningful autism insurance reform legislation across the country,” said Ursitti. “Working to continually strengthen and disseminate best practices for providers who serve people with autism is the logical and critical next step towards this goal. I am thrilled to join CASP in leading this effort.”
In her new role, Ursitti will work on building sustained relationships within the greater CASP community and on collaborating with providers and other stakeholders to establish and disseminate best practices and standards for autism provider organizations. Ursitti earned a bachelor of business administration from Georgia College and State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and worked for many years as a tax accountant before changing careers and applying her talent and energy toward advocating for those with autism.
