CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MPM Capital (MPM), an investor in innovative therapeutics companies, has announced the promotions of Shinichiro Fuse, Ph.D. and Kristen Laguerre to its Investment Committee, effective December 1, 2020.

Shin Fuse, Ph.D. joined MPM in 2016 as a Principal. Since joining MPM, Shin has focused on advancing MPM’s private company creation and business development activities and has been instrumental in executing the launches of several MPM portfolio companies. Particularly, Shin worked on the founding management teams at both Orna Therapeutics (as interim CEO) and ElevateBio (as interim SVP of business development). Shin currently serves on the boards of iOmx, Orna, and Triplet Therapeutics, and he is a board observer for CODA Biotherapeutics.
Kristen Laguerre, M.B.A. joined MPM in 2017 as Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer after serving as CFO on the founding management team of MPM portfolio company Cullinan Oncology. Kristen has a track record of more than 20 years of financial leadership and management experience and is highly respected for her depth of experience in venture capital. Currently, Kristen oversees MPM’s portfolio management, finance and operations, and administrative functions, and has quickly established her leadership role at MPM. Kristen most recently served as Partner and CFO at Flare Capital Partners, and, previously, Partner and CFO at Atlas Venture, an early-stage life sciences and technology venture capital firm. She began her career in the alternative investment industry at SoftBank Capital.
