Boston law firm Sherin and Lodgen LLP announces that Sara J. Shanahan served as co-chair of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Business Litigation Conference. The conference provided insight into the latest developments in business litigation and important case law. Shanahan kicked off the program with, “Year in Review: A Dialogue on the Top 10 Cases.” Fellow Sherin and Lodgen attorney, John C. La Liberte, spoke on the panel, “How Strong Is Your Client’s- and the Other Side’s Armor?” and covered best practices for reaching and protecting assets inside and outside of bankruptcy. The event was held at the Boston MCLE Conference Center on Friday, February 7, 2020.

Shanahan is chair of the firm’s Litigation Department, and co-chair of the Business Litigation Practice Group. She concentrates her practice on complex business litigation and insurance coverage disputes. Shanahan represents a variety of clients such as hedge funds and investment managers, generic pharmaceutical manufacturers, national retailers, insurers, insureds, shareholders of closely held corporations and officers and directors of public corporations.

John C. La Liberte is chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditor Rights Group, and co-chair of the Business Litigation, Construction Law and Real Estate Litigation Practice Groups. He also serves as the firm’s General Counsel. La Liberte concentrates his practice in business litigation, bankruptcy related litigation, complex commercial disputes, including intellectual property and trade secret related litigation, product liability litigation, and commercial landlord/tenant disputes.
