Wolf Greenfield Again Named Among Top-Performing and Most Active Law Firms for IPRs

10/2/19

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the third year in a row, Patexia Inc.—an intellectual property community and information service—has named Wolf Greenfield among the top-performing and most active law firms for inter partes review (IPR). The firm was ranked in the top one percent of all U.S. firms for success rate, and was one of only two firms in the country to be named in the top 20 best-performing firms for petitioners and for patent owners. Wolf Greenfield was also ranked as one of the most experienced IPR practices in the country, in the top five percent of all firms based on the number of cases handled.

Rich Giunta, the chair of the firm’s Post-Grant Proceedings Group, was ranked in the top one percent of all U.S. attorneys both for overall success rate, and based on the number of cases handled. Shareholders Randy Pritzker, Mike Rader and Ed Walsh were also recognized as top performers.

“We’re honored to be recognized for our IPR work,” said Giunta. “It’s an ever-changing area of practice, and we’re proud to have been able to achieve results that far outpace industry norms for our petitioner and patent owner clients alike. Our demonstrated ability to persuasively present the technical and legal issues that pervade post-grant proceedings has allowed us not only to win for our clients, but to make new law numerous times, which has been exciting and rewarding.”

The firm’s Post-Grant Proceedings Group continues to have an outstanding track record of success. The Legal 500 called it “one of the most successful PTAB practices in the U.S.,” and Managing IP recognized the firm as “notable in the PTAB arena, with impressive expertise in post-grant proceedings and IPRs.” The IAM Patent 1000 recommended Giunta nationally for post-grant proceedings.

Patexia’s IPR Intelligence Report ranked the top 50 law firms and attorneys in terms of IPR activity and performance, out of 941 firms and 5,258 attorneys in the United States. The report was based on an analysis of all 8,107 IPR challenges filed from July 1, 2013 to the first half of 2019.
