Fuseideas has completed an upgrade for the Newport, R.I. website, according to Dennis Franczak, CEO of the full-service advertising agency. Fuseideas won the assignment in July of 2017 and the site went live this month.

Fuseideas assignment was to build a content management system and workflow that allows the city's 28 different editors to manage their own content. It empowers city departments while presenting a consistent user experience.

"It really is a much more user-oriented website,” according to the city's communications officer. "It's organized so the average user can navigate it easily. Since the website will be interactive, allowing people to apply for licenses and permits online, pay taxes, and obtain death and birth certificates, the city has made the security of the website a priority.”

Franczak commented, “The site is user focused. It provides the easy ability to find online options for common city functions and the design of the site uses all local imagery meant to anchor the user in the local Newport scene.” It has an extensive "I want to..." section allowing site visitors to do everything from pay a parking ticket to plan a walk on the cliffs, “ he added.

Fuseideas has also provided the city the benefit of a significant transformation from paper-based systems to digital systems. Applications, police reporting, and information requests are handled online with relevant information routed directly between the city department and the site user.
