PR News Names SHIFT Communications' Amanda Munroe as a 2018 Top Woman in PR

1/27/19

SHIFT Communications, an integrated communications agency, is proud to announce that its Boston-based Vice President, Amanda Munroe, has been chosen as one of PR News' Top Women in PR in 2018. The accolade is presented annually to the most influential women in public relations who are driving the agenda for the industry and their companies. This is the third Top Women in PR win for SHIFT. Managing Partner, Amy Lyons, was honored in 2016, and Senior Vice President of Consumer Brands, Annie Perkins, was selected in 2017.

This award acknowledges the accomplishments of women who have made bold advances in creating communications strategies for brands, nonprofits and government agencies. Munroe, who was nominated for her revered work in the cybersecurity, cloud computing and data analytics space – as well as her excellent record of client retention and portfolio growth – is seen amongst colleagues as a powerhouse and mentor, with more than 45 PR industry awards during the span of her career.

"I am honored to be selected alongside other women leaders who are determining how our industry evolves and how we stay at the forefront of innovation in our field," said Amanda Munroe, VP, SHIFT Communications. "I've been lucky to call SHIFT home for 15 years, and during that time, have been surrounded by other women – both clients and colleagues – that encourage me to both fearlessly march into the future and to lead our next generation of PR pros by example."

The awards were distributed on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City and included a keynote presentation from Justine Davie, Communications Strategy Officer for the Marine Corps Reserve, who shared how she infuses humor and emotional vulnerability into her own writing and communications work, as well as describing the wider movement that female practitioners have sparked as they lead the next big trends in communications.
