WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mobile Heartbeat, a leading provider of mobile healthcare enterprise solutions that improve clinical workflow and care team communication, today announced a technology integration partnership with Imprivata, the healthcare IT security company. The company is integrating the Imprivata Mobile Device Access authentication solution with its MH-CURE mobile clinical communications and collaboration smartphone platform to provide fast yet secure access to mobile devices and applications that enables clinicians to further streamline workflows.
Clinical mobile device users are required to manually enter usernames and passwords to unlock their devices and access applications each time they are used. This inefficient workflow not only causes frustration and creates barriers to technology adoption, but it takes time away from patient care. By integrating with Imprivata Mobile Device Access, MH-CURE on Android streamlines authentication by enabling clinicians to simply tap a proximity badge to unlock their device and then single sign-on (SSO) into MH-CURE and all the integrated applications on the device. In addition to increasing efficiency and giving clinicians more time with patients, healthcare organizations boost security and improve auditing of Protected Health Information (PHI) by gaining better visibility into user interactions with PHI. They also increase mobile device and application usability by removing password entry as a barrier to adoption.
“Our integration with Imprivata Mobile Device Access will enable our customers to more easily access and take advantage of the full potential of our mobile clinical communications and collaboration solution and its integration with complementary applications such as nurse call and alerts systems,” said Ron Remy, CEO at Mobile Heartbeat. “By eliminating repetitive manual password entry for device and application access, hospitals allow their clinicians to avoid workflow disruptions and in fact gain further workflow improvements while using our MH-CURE platform.”
Organizations with clinicians sharing mobile devices with MH-CURE also benefit from Imprivata’s secure, fast user switching capability. With this capability, if a user forgets to lock their session, the next user will instantly log out the first user when they tap their proximity badge to log in. This safeguards patient data, greatly reduces the risk of clinicians accessing applications under an incorrect ID and puts the device in the proper state for the next user.
“It’s imperative that healthcare organizations take security measures with mobile devices to protect PHI and other sensitive data,” said Wes Wright, Chief Technology Officer at Imprivata. “By using MH-CURE integrating Imprivata Mobile Device Access, healthcare organizations improve the security of their mobile devices and applications while clinicians are able to lock or access them without disrupting their workflows.”
Mobile Heartbeat will be demonstrating its integration with Imprivata Mobile Device Access in Booth #4179 at HIMSS19, taking place February 11 – 15 in Orlando, Florida.
