FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CommCreative, a leading unified marketing agency, today announced the Factory Mark Gallery’s newest exhibit, Un-Earthed, which features the work of experimental sculptural artist Sofia Plater. Plater employs human-made materials such as cement, resin, and paint to create engaging forms inspired by nature. The exhibit features dense wall sculptures that incorporate many unrefined earthy textures, and that convey how a modern city might appear after nature reclaims the earth’s surfaces.
“Sofia’s work has already created a huge buzz within the agency,” said Lisa McCarthy, agency principal at CommCreative. “Each of her pieces is truly unique, and our entire team is continually inspired by the various creative and transformative sculptures featured throughout the gallery. Plater is currently a candidate at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts and will be graduating from the program this coming May. Her work shows a deep connection with nature and concern for the effects humans have on the environment. Reminiscent of disintegrating architectural systems in a post-apocalyptic world, the sculptures are a portrayal of what our surroundings could end up looking like if we continue to destroy our planet and resources.
