
Alan Macdonald
The South Shore Chamber of Commerce, the region’s largest Chamber, announces that Alan Macdonald, Director of Public Policy for South Shore Health System has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2017.
In this capacity, Macdonald will work with South Shore Chamber President and CEO Peter Forman and the Board of Directors to help oversee general strategy and direction for the Chamber. In particular, he will work to help further promote the Chamber’s Regional Development Plan, as well as a number of other initiatives. “The Chamber has a compelling vision that promotes the success of its members and strengthens the vitality of the South Shore region as an ideal area to live, work, and play. I am proud to be engaged in this effort on behalf of South Shore Health System,” said Macdonald.
Macdonald, a resident of Hingham, sits on the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, and serves on the Blue Hills, Brockton and Plymouth Community Health Network Areas Steering Committees. He is a member of the Weymouth Rotary and an Emeritus Member of the United States Air Force Chief of Staff Civic Leaders Group.
Peter Forman, CEO of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, said, “Alan has been a strong and tireless leader on the Chamber’s Board and we know that his time as Chairman will be very beneficial for the Chamber and for the region. We are delighted to have him in this key role.”
