The previous partnership between PUMA® and Tank Design has resulted in a contribution by the design and branding agency to the first major show at the Museum Fur Kunst Und Gewerbe (MKG) in Hamburg, Germany dedicated to the sneaker culture.
The work, created for the “I’m Going” campaign involved the Tony Award-winning New York dance troupe Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Dance Company and fashion photography-team Guzman to create a series of ads featuring PUMA products.
According to organizers, the exhibition, Sneakers. Design for Fast Feet, examines the phenomenon of sneaker culture from a variety of angles, shedding light on its importance in youth culture, its design, the marketing strategies adopted by its manufacturers, and the collector scene. There are a total of around 250 exhibits on display, including some 120 pairs of shoes – historic examples worn by famous sports stars, constituting a selection of prized items from private collections.
The exhibition is produced in cooperation with numerous collectors, who are often loath to part with their most treasured pieces. Designers and agencies donated many of the posters and large-format prints on show to the MKG for the purposes of the exhibition, which will be open until the end of August
