The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named Tighe & Bond as a winner of their 2020 Bronze Engineering Excellence Award for their work on the East Main Street Water Treatment Plant in Middleborough, MA.
The 2020 Engineering Excellence Awards were recently announced and will be celebrated at the 2021 ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala. The awards celebrate innovation, ingenuity, and excellence in engineering achievement.
The East Main Street Water Treatment Plant is a sustainable and economic success that reduces the levels of iron and manganese contaminants in the Town of Middleborough’s drinking water supply. Tighe & Bond’s innovative design and application of a biological filtration is helping set a new standard of how the industry can address drinking water treatment. With the completion of this project, Tighe & Bond has now designed three out of the four operating biological water treatment plants in New England. The continued use of biological water treatment throughout New England and the country will help fulfill a need in the waterworks industry to provide more sustainable alternative solutions for water treatment.
