Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth (HFHGP) is pleased to announce the organization was recently awarded a grant of $10,000 from the HarborOne Foundation. This grant will be used to support the ongoing construction of two homes on Long Pond Road in Plymouth, both of which have been designated for military veterans who are single mothers raising children.
The HarborOne Foundation mission is to strengthen and empower individuals and families by investing in highly effective non-profit organizations that are creating positive and lasting change in local communities.
“Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth’s mission closely aligns with HarborOne’s goals of creating access and opportunity for children and families in the communities where we live and work,” said Jennifer White, vice president of community and public relations for HarborOne. “We are proud to contribute to the great work HFHGP is undertaking.”
“We are so grateful to the HarborOne Foundation for their generous support,” said Jim Middleton, executive director of HFHGP.? “Being able to secure stable housing is a challenge for so many in even the best of times; in our ongoing environment, safe and dependable housing takes on a whole new meaning. We are working tirelessly to complete these two homes as quickly as we can, and this support from HarborOne will go a long ways toward seeing us to the end.”
More efforts are underway to identify and secure new land throughout the HFHGP’s region, which includes Plymouth, Kingston, Carver, Middleboro, Plympton, and Lakeville in order to help address the significant increasing need for affordable workforce housing.
