Boston Scientific To Acquire Vertiflex For $465M

Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) has agreed to acquire privately-held Vertiflex, the developer of a device to improve physical function and reduce pain in lumbar spinal stenosis patients called the Superion Indirect Decompression System.

The device, approved in the U.S. in 2015, should generate $60M in sales this year.

Under the terms of the deal, BSX will pay $465M in upfront cash plus commercial milestones over the next three years.
