Research has shown that between 1.4 billion and 1.6 billion platelets per ML of blood is the optimal concentration level needed for development of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). On the day of treatment, a patient’s blood is first tested to determine their baseline platelet count. This screening helps the Medi Tresse team to customize the final platelet solution to ensure the optimal platelet concentration necessary to stimulate hair restoration for that specific individual. The patient’s blood is then drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate platelets from the plasma. Based on the baseline measurements, the platelet solution is optimized, and tested to confirm optimal counts, and these platelets are then activated to stimulate growth factors that drive hair growth once injected into their scalp where hair is thinning.
For the initial course of treatment, Medi Tresse recommends one treatment a month for three months. At the 12-month mark, Medi Tresse recommends a booster treatment every 6 to 12 months to maintain results.
